Vaalwater/Marken – Big 5 Shelanti Self-c Buffelsfontein Lodge
Nestled between the rural villages of Marken and Baltimore in the Northern Province Bushveld, the 16 000 hectare Shelanti big 5 Game Farm is merely a three-hour drive from Johannesburg and less than two hours' drive from Pietersburg.
Shelati Buffelsfontein self-catering Lodge is situated in the Big 5 Camp some 5 km from the Shelanti Main lodge. The lodge is electrically fenced and is surrounded by beautiful bushveld typical of this area. A drinking water hole in front of the camp offers relaxing and excellent game viewing.
Shelanti is indeed an ecological paradise for those who can appreciate and respect the African bush experience at its very best. At night, sharp-eyed visitors might encounter leopards, spotted and brown hyenas, aardwolves, black-backed jackals or even bat-eared foxes. Add to the mix the odd porcupine, aardvark, springhare, bush baby and numerous nocturnal birds, and you'll soon realise why so many visitors love the African - the Shelanti - nightlife.
Our games drives are popular with a reason. Encountering elephant or our lazy rhino's remains a special occasion, or will your day be made by the hippo, eland, giraffe, kudu, nyala, waterbuck, reedbuck or by the shy bushbuck or various others?

The lodge comprises of a farmstead that has been transformed into a beautiful self-catering lodge with fully equipped kitchen, four bedrooms, dining room and lapa. No TV or radio, only fans and quests may use the swimming pool at the main lodge. The four bedrooms comprise two with double beds and two with two single beds each and own bathrooms.
